Design mobile AI experiences around long-running work

A mobile app should let people start, follow, and revisit work without requiring them to keep a screen open.

Start with a clear boundary

Persist task state on the server because mobile apps are suspended and networks change. Restore a concise task list when the user returns.

Handle failure deliberately

Design for interruptions: keep context, offer useful notifications sparingly, and let people control notification preferences.

Make the result understandable

Web and mobile can share a task lifecycle contract while using platform-appropriate layouts. Shared code does not remove the need for touch-friendly design.
